This was the third stage of the Canberra Centre redevelopment project. This required the demolition of existing ground floor retailers and the removal of an intermediate carpark level to create a two storey mall to link the existing Canberra Centre with recently completed Stage 2 works. Staging requirements were critical to ensure pedestrian links were opened immediately on the opening of Stage 2 and then the level 1 retailers commenced trading whilst ground floor base building and retail works continued.
