Stockland – Shellharbour

Role: Project Manager

Construction Value: Approx. $170M

Completion: Project Postponed 2008

Owned and managed by the Stockland Group, Stockland Shellharbour Shopping Centre is located on the South Coast of New South Wales. The redevelopment will increase the trading floor of the Centre from the current 45,000m2 to over 100,000m2, including the addition of a two level mall and the refurbishment and upgrading of a large proportion of the existing centre. The new multi level car park and roof top parking of 66,000m2 will add 1,580 car spaces to the centre.

The new look Stockland Shellharbour will include a 2 level department store, two additional department stores, two supermarkets, and over 200 specialty shops. In addition, the project will see an upgrade of public amenities, a new bus terminal and access points into the centre. A new City Square is to be included in the upgrade.

Compass was initially engaged in 2007 to project manage the delivery of the project. Compass managed design development, finalisation of Majors AFL briefs and managing the tender process to select the preferred tenderer. Stockland postponed the project in late 2008 due to the GFC. Stockland are now managing the construction phase internally.
